This year, profits from our Button-O-Matic Artist Series will benefit future artists. We’ve partnered with Yollocalli Arts Reach to support their mission of bringing “communal, artistic, and cultural resources” to youth and young adults in the Little Village neighborhood.
Yollocalli is a youth initiative of the National Museum of Mexican Art, the venue for our upcoming Button-o-Matic release party. In addition to donating profits from the series, we’re encouraging release party attendees to bring art supplies for donation to the Yollocalli art center. Yollocalli provides a safe, positive space to learn about and explore art. Donations help them keep their programming completely free of charge.
Many of the local artists that contributed to this series have benefitted directly from community arts programming and mentorship. Their success is proof of the concept that guidance and access matters. We’re proud to help Yollocalli provide this to more of their community, and we’re excited to see what future artists they help create!
Yollocalli is in particular need of colored pencils, markers, sticker paper, and Sharpies, but other supplies are welcome. Donations can be brought to the Button-o-Matic release party on Friday, October 2nd, or to the Busy Beaver Button Co. office at 3279 W. Armitage Ave.
