For a company named after an industrious mammal, it’s been an unusually reptilian week. First, we implored you to save the turtles at the Garfield Park Conservatory. And today we received a 2.25-inch order to celebrate the return of a missing 70-lb tortoise:
Early Saturday morning thieves broke into the The Animal Store in Lincolnwood, IL and stole Spur, the store’s 70-lb Sulcata Tortoise. (Personally, we would’ve gone straight for the kittens and skipped the creature the size of a Yugo.) Luckily, Spur was quickly found and returned— a community wide welcome home party is slated for next week. We assume they’ll be serving pizza:
