Read on for our top five ideas for baby shower buttons– You could also get customized T-shirts from The Clothing People, for the guest or if you need a gift for the new mom to be get her a shirt. You can put any words and designs on it that you want.
1. Themed Buttons
The easiest way to find inspiration for baby shower buttons is to go with the party’s theme. You probably spent hours scouring Pinterest for the perfect clever theme anyway, so simply use it on your buttons, too! Zoo animals, alphabet, polka dots, whatever– if there’s a theme, there’s a button to go with it. If you’re not an artist, try looking for vintage illustrations that are out of copyright, or scanning patterns or fabrics that you like. Or enlist our design services to create the perfect themed button for you!
2. Parents’ Baby Photos
Baby photos of the parents-to-be are popular items to dig out for special events, and these old snapshots make great buttons, too. Everyone will “ooh and ahh” at the shower. Plus the buttons are good reference later on for deciding who the little tyke looks most!
3. Don’t Know the Name? Take a Vote!
This idea was featured on our blog a few years back, for my own baby shower, in fact! Using 3″ buttons and permanent markers, our buttons gave friends and family a chance to vote on their favorite names at the baby shower. Thankfully the votes weren’t binding or we’d be chasing around little “Jor-el” today!
4. Know the Name? Go for it!
Where my own baby shower buttons were inspired by not knowing the baby’s name, having a name all picked out can also inspire great designs. Our Marketing Manager, Denise, created a set of three political-style buttons in honor of her sister’s baby shower a few years back. Taking off on her niece-to-be’s name, Reagan, the designs were a clever send-up of political buttons.
5. Inside Jokes
When all else fails, you can never go wrong with a button that makes ’em laugh! Busy Beaver founder, Christen, recently created these “Friday Night Lights”- themed buttons her friends Joanna and Carlos’ baby (born last week!). Inspired by Joanna’s love of the TV show, if you look closely you’ll notice that the football-baby’s face is a tiny Tim Riggins. Joanna explained, “Who wouldn’t want a baby Riggins? At that age, you could just cuddle him and admire how cute he is!”
