“There’s no shortage of grammar and punctuation misuse out there in the world, so it didn’t take much to inspire these monster designs.” So explained Voz Perkins, creative mind behind Fishcakes and the maker of a set of “Word Nerd” magnets, on the inspiration behind her pro-grammar designs.
Voz’s grammar monsters boast of using correct punctuation and knowing the difference between who and whom, among other commonly neglected grammar rules. She explained, “I’m not perfect, I make mistakes too, but the rampant abuse of apostrophes is almost too much to bear. I know I’m not alone in my frustration with the way people use apostrophes to make plurals. I know because customers tell me enthusiastically how much they identify with that desperate little orange monster and his sign.”
Voz is the maker for a full line of monsters who proclaim their love for topics ranging from math to cake to bicycling. “I suspect if you combine them all,” she said, “you’d have a pretty good snapshot of me.”
Voz said that she appreciated that we offered quick turnaround on her order (“Great for me, because I procrastinate.”) and that the beavers are “friendly folks and a normal-sized, real-person-staffed company.” Can’t get a better reccomendation than that!
